The H.M.S Beagle is the ship that took a young Darwin around to various sites from 1831 to 1836. His observations during these years would help to lead to his groundbreaking work On the Origin of Species.
This blog is a project for a class, and throughout the semester I will be detailing each chapter of Origin. This book was a major turning point for biology but is not very reader friendly. This is an attempt at summarizing the book and making it more accessible to a modern audience.
I am reading from the second edition of Origin, edited by Joseph Carroll and published by Broadview Texts in 2003. The second edition was originally published in 1860.
Enjoy the voyage.
